Ingersoll Choral Society prepares a new and very different production for their 2008 Good Friday concert.

Ingersoll, January 9, 2008 - This past Monday night the members of the Ingersoll Choral Society (ICS) once again gathered in their rehearsal hall to work on "Believe" an Easter musical created by Steve Moore and David T. Clydesdale.

"This is going to be a very different performance for us" states Ted Winter, Music Director for the ICS, "there is a large portion of dramatic content in this piece that will make a big change from our typical Good Friday concerts". To accomplish the staging of this arrangement the ICS will be seeking additional volunteers to take on stage direction, sound production and several narrative roles.

The ICS meets for rehearsal every Monday evening and some Wednesdays while preparing a show. If you walk past St. James Anglican church between 7:30 and 9:30 pm you can often hear them working in the basement there, known as "Grinkle Park".

When asked about the size of the choir and the need for new members, Winter chuckles. "There is always lots of room in the men's section, for those who want to try it out" he says. "We like female singers too", he added, "it's just harder to recruit men". According to Ted all that is needed is an ability to carry a tune and learn a part. Reading music is not a requirement.

Good Friday comes early this year, so, mark your calendars now. The concert will be at St. James Anglican Church, Ingersoll, on the evening of March 21st. This concert has no admission fee so you must come early to get a seat. A free will offering will be collected.

The Ingersoll Choral Society was founded to provide a greater musical challenge for choral singers in the community. A friendly and fun atmosphere is fostered while producing a minimum of two shows annually and appearing at community events. New members are welcome at the commencement of preparation for each show.
