The "Black Look": As we became more stage-savvy, we started to incorporate props and costuming to better effect. Our Andrew Lloyd Webber show used black costumes to give "Phantom of the Opera" a stark look punctuated by the minimal white or colour that we chose to use. For the number we're practicing, the masks we wore on stage seemed to float in the air, very fitting for the Phantom section. We added coloured jackets and sweaters for Evita and Cats - less stark, but somber. For Jesus Christ Superstar and Joseph, we went technicolour for the more flashy musicals.
